Petar

Petar is a passionate Bulgarian cook with professional culinary training. He specializes in traditional cuisine with his own spicy twist. He is serving katino meze - a dish of fried pork, mushrooms and onions seasoned with paprika with a traditional salad of tomatoes, cucumber, peppers and feta. This is accompanied with a piece of freshly baked sun bread - an enriched Bulgarian celebratory bread. What a treat!

Vanessa

Vanessa is one of our Filipino cooks who is inspired by her own rich food culture and enjoys experimenting with exotic flavour influences. In the Philippines she delighted in using the fresh produce which grew in abundance around her and enjoys using similar flavours here in her own interpretation of dishes. She is preparing a spicy shrimp taco for you using a sweet curry paste and accenting with chilli and garlic. She is also treating us to a luxurious and succulent chicken cashew dish, stir fried with pepper, onion garlic and oyster sauce. Delicious!

Betty

All expat cooks seek for the way to localise their taste of home. Betty, for January Pop-Ups, presents her localised version of Taiwanese "Fresh Shrimp and Bean Vermicelli". Beauty of this recipe is the glass "vermicelli" noodles that absorbed the flavour packed sauce of garlic, soy sauce, oil and "umami" released from shrimps. Discover another Taiwanese culinary gem made possible by Betty's exploration. of locally available ingredients!

MJ

Mary Jane, or MJ as she is known here in Finland, is Zestii cook from Fillipines. Food has always been a big part of her life and as a child she watched her aunt and cousin cook for their many family celebrations. The Philippines have a varied culinary tradition and culture depending on where you are and MJ enjoyed mixing flavours and experimenting bringing her own twist to traditional dishes. Filipino food is about celebration and bringing people together. We hope you bring her food and joy to your own table!
